Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Post-Op - Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage treatment is a type of massage that stretches the skin and helps promote the flow of lymphatic fluid from swollen areas. Often prescribed to reduce edema post surgery, studies have shown that MLD speeds recovery and improves appearance. This rehabilitative therapy is an excellent adjunct to other treatments.

What it does:

  • Reduces swelling and fluid retention, ideal post surgery
Stimulates circulation resulting in tighter skin and less scar tissue
    Improves skin tone and appearance
    Can help reduce varicose veins
  • Boost recovery by flushing out toxins

Clinically proven and FDA Cleared Photobiomodulation (Red Light and Infrared Therapy) go deep into the tissue while you are cocooned in LED light wave energy. This creates the perfect environment for your body to go into a concentrated healing mode.

Swelling can be drastically reduced with this healing massage technique. Patients experience a reduction in pain, faster healing and recovery from surgery and often report better looking skin tone.

Long, gentle rhythmic strokes are performed to help push excess fluid around incisions to help increase blood circulation, fight infection and reduce the buildup of scar tissue. You can expect to feel relaxed and possibly tired after as your body continues to heal. You may receive this gentle massage therapy 24-48 hours post surgery and as many needed there after to boost recovery and final appearance.

Lymphatic Drainage treatments are very safe and extremely effective. Consult with your physician post surgery to determine when best to begin these treatments and LDM is not recommended if you have a heart condition.
